I Care about Your Privacy

Have you noticed that in the three years I've distributed my hardcopy newsletter, the detailed sales information (asking price, sales price, square feet, etc.) has NEVER included a house number--just the name of the street? Or that two years ago, I stopped attaching prices to my ads highlighting my recent sales? Or that my e-newsletter includes an easy opt-out service, and I regularly point that out to readers (it's at the bottom of the page, by the way)? And that it's a quarterly newsletter, not a weekly communique?

I care about your privacy because:

1.) this is too small a town not to care;

2.) moving house often means changing lives, and you should be telling the news;

3.) in some cases, the SEC would be interested in finding out what did I know, when did I know it, and is that how x found out about the impending merger;

4.) it's no one else's business whether you're teetering on the edge financially, could buy an island if you wanted to, or are checking out the one house you've always had your eye on in Berkeley; and

5.) my reputation is at stake.

So if you ever hear me telling tales out of school, just shoot me and get it over with.
